SignAd was founded in 1964 in Houston, Texas. With Houston growing
at a rapid rate, Mr. Wesley B. Gilbreath, Sr. founded the company with an initial investment of
$1,500. First starting
with a general sign company tending to all facets of the sign business, Mr. Gilbreath achieved his greatest success
in the outdoor advertising industry, eventually specializing in outdoor bulletins.
In addition to the new SignAd displays, asset acquisitions of
Beshear Sign Company, Beshear Sheppard Outdoor, Skyline Outdoor
Advertising Company, Feazzell Outdoor, and Dixie Outdoor Advertising Company in the 1970's and 1980's added significant inventory to the plant and eventually
helped SignAd become the largest independently held billboard company in Texas.
 In 1980, SignAd located
to its current main operations facility on the North Loop (I-610), just north of downtown Houston in The Heights.
SignAd is currently continuing its philosophy of controlled growth into the southeastern, central and eastern portions
of Texas outside of the Houston area.
SignAd is still owned and operated by the Gilbreath family, which controls
nearly 1,200 bulletin faces in and around
the southeast Texas area. SignAd, well noted for its unmatched turn-around time and customer service, takes pride
in servicing the accounts of several Fortune 500 companies, as well as small business operations in the area.
SignAd specializes in leasing permanent advertising space (perms), although a rotary plan is also available. SignAd
offers six to twelve month advertising contracts that include basic artwork and production costs. Pictorials, cutouts,
extensions, embellishments, and on occasion, printed vinyl, are subject to a one-time production charge. Monthly
pricing for the various billboard faces will vary from $250.00 per month in the rural and secondary markets to
$8,000.00 per month for the prime freeway displays.
